PrenupByState

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-19

PrenupByState collects as little information about you as we can. This page explains exactly what that means.

What we collect directly

PrenupByState is a static website with no accounts, no logins, no contact forms, and no comments. We don't ask for your email to read pages. The data collection that happens is through Google Analytics (described below) and standard server logs at our hosting provider.

What our hosting provider sees

The site is hosted on Hostinger. Like any web server, Hostinger records standard HTTP request data — IP address, user-agent string, page URL, timestamp — for security, abuse prevention, and infrastructure monitoring. We do not access individual visitor data. Hostinger's privacy practices are described at hostinger.com/privacy-policy.

What third parties may collect

Affiliate links

When you click an outbound affiliate link to LegalMatch, LegalZoom, or HelloPrenup, you leave this site. Those services have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies. We pass along a UTM tag identifying that the click came from PrenupByState and which state page it came from — but we do not pass any personal information about you, because we don't have any.

Analytics — Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-3L1QW3VCLD) to understand which pages and states readers find most useful. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) that store an anonymous identifier and basic browsing data on this site. We do not collect or store any personal information through analytics ourselves.

What Google Analytics collects in our default configuration:

  • Pages visited on this site and time spent on each
  • Referrer (the previous URL that brought you here)
  • Device type, browser, operating system, screen size
  • Approximate location (country/region/city — derived from IP, IP itself is not stored)
  • Anonymous user identifier (a random number) so we can count unique visitors

We have IP anonymization enabled by default in GA4. We do not link analytics data to any other personal identifier and we do not use it for ad personalization.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, install the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block third-party cookies in your browser.

Advertising (planned, not yet active)

We may eventually serve display ads through Google AdSense once the site reaches sufficient scale. AdSense uses cookies. If we add it, we'll update this policy and add a cookie-consent banner for jurisdictions that require one (EU, UK, California, etc.). Google's ad-privacy practices are at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Cookies on this site

PrenupByState does not set its own cookies. The cookies you may see in your browser from this domain are set by Google Analytics (described above). They are:

  • _ga — anonymous user identifier, expires after 2 years
  • _ga_3L1QW3VCLD — Google Analytics 4 session ID, expires after 2 years

You can delete these any time from your browser settings, or block third-party cookies entirely. Blocking them will not affect your ability to use the site.

Children's privacy

PrenupByState is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we don't collect personal information directly, there is no PrenupByState account or profile for you to request, correct, or delete. For data held by our affiliate partners, contact them directly using the links above. For data held by Vercel (request logs), contact Vercel.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how the site collects or shares information, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Substantive changes will also be noted in the site footer for at least 30 days.
